The vigilance of Bloekombos K9 Unit members on Thursday morning landed three suspects behind bars for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and a stolen vehicle.
“While on patrol in Bloekombos, the members spotted a Renault Modus driving recklessly in in Marula Road,” said police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut.
“The vehicle was stopped and an investigation revealed that it had been stolen in December in Claremont.”

He added that the three male occupants, aged between 26 and 30, were searched and an unlicensed 9mm pistol linked to a murder in Bityi, in the Eastern Cape, was discovered.
“The suspects were arrested and are due to make a court appearance in Blue Downs once they have been charged.”
