The Corporate Services division responsible for the community halls recently upgraded a number of the community gathering places.
Alwyn Joseph, Manager Halls, noted that some of the projects completed are the upgrading of the kitchen at Parkdene Community Hall, with the installation of kitchen cupboards, floor and wall tiles.
The ladies’s ablution facilities at the George Civic Centre have been retiled. Rosemoor Hall ceiling has been repaired and Lawaaikamp and Touwsranten halls had their curtains replaced. The kitchens at Touwsranten and Lawaaikamp halls have also been upgraded with new cupboards and tiles.
Mr Joseph said that they will soon start soon with the installation of Beta fencing around the Parkdene Community Hall, a stronger quality of fencing.
Portfolio Councillor for Corporate Services, Jacqulique Von Brandis and Siphiwo James, Director: Corporate Services recently visited a number of the locations to view the upgrades.
