George Municipality hosts Affordable Housing Open Day

George Municipality, in conjunction with the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements, will host an Affordable Housing Open Day on Saturday, 23rd February 2019 at St. Augustine Hall, Meade Street between 09h00 and 16h00.

“The purpose of this open day will be to pre-screen candidates for mortgage finance with a Financial Institution of their choice and to create awareness of the initiation of the Social Rental Housing programme,” said spokesperson, Chantel Edwards-Klose.

“The day will also be to update the Human Settlements Demand Database; to introduce candidates to other departmental human settlement programmes; to introduce the Syferfontein Catalytic project and display and discuss the affordable housing FLISP typologies and drawings; and to enhance understanding of the Government Employee Housing Scheme (where applicable).”

She said that the open day is aimed at households with incomes ranging between R3,501 and R22,000 per month.
