Lighthouse exhibit is now on display at Hermanus Library

Hermanus Library is thrilled to be hosting a new exhibit of the 48 lighthouses of South Africa, including the Danger Point Lighthouse near Gansbaai and the Cape Hangklip Lighthouse in Pringle Bay.

Onrus resident and a retired teacher of Hoërskool Durbanville, Jan Smith, made these and he says that each of the 48 lighthouses tells a story.

The lighthouses will be on display at the Hermanus Library till next week.

  • Jan has been a member of the library for many years and was in discussion with The Friends of the Hermanus Library about how little information there is on lighthouses and the idea to do a display was sparked.
