Positive Sports Solutions to distribute Spanish-made Luck shoes

Cycling distribution company Positive Sports Solutions has added another string to its bow by setting up an agreement to distribute Spanish-produced Luck shoes to all countries in the Southern Africa Development Community.

The SA company has embarked on a policy of providing quality sports equipment at an affordable price to local consumers and this is the latest deal they have signed.

Already, premium brands such as HEAD bikes, Gipiemme wheels, Westfalia bike carriers and Controltech products are available through Positive Sports Solutions.

In tandem with Cheristar under businessman Wihan Snyman, which imports the brand from Spain, the Luck shoes will be available from the first week in November.

An interesting background to the company

Snyman said the Spanish firm, which was established in 1990 by Juan Jose Pascual, had developed a reputation for producing highly rated cycling shoes.

“There’s an interesting background to the company because the production of the cycling shoes was first started by Pascual’s father, who worked in a footwear factory,” he said.

“An avid cyclist who had knowledge of shoe production, he started making cycling shoes in his spare time but never developed further than opening a small shop.

“The young Pascual, inspired by his father’s efforts, expanded the operation to the Luck brand which has become highly popular among cyclists around the world.”

Positive Sports Solutions spokesman David Pieterse said the imported products covered a variety of disciplines, including track and road racing, mountain-biking and enduro, plus road and mountain-bike triathlons.

“Cyclists who would like to inquire about the Luck shoes and other sports brands available can visit the Positive Sports Solutions website [positivesportsolutions.co.za], whereafter a personal relationship will be established with the customer,” he said.

Option to personalise the upper of the shoe with your name, logo or any design

Importantly for cyclists, the most popular colours and models in each range will be available in South Africa, while customised products are available on order, with delivery made in three weeks.

“We can cater for all types of requirements, big or small and extra wide, as well as varus and valgus correction,” said Snyman.

“Shoes can be manufactured according to the needs of a cyclist’s specific requirements and these can be ordered in the same way as normal shoes.”

He said there was also the option to personalise the upper of the shoe with your name, logo or any design as South African cyclist Ryan Gibbons has done (see attached pictures).

The shoes are made from a range of different micro fibres and real leather in some of the higher-end products, Snyman added.

“All the shoes come standard with carbon fibre soles and each shoe is hand-made in Spain in up to seven different colours.

“Because the shoes are all hand-made, the quality is of the highest possible standard and the prices compare favourably with normal cycling shoes. The main difference is that the Luck shoes all have carbon soles.”

He said there had been a big demand from the South African market for the Spanish-made brand.
