]]>“The community of participated in partnership policing this morning when they shared valuable information with the police about suspects that were involved in a murder in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein,” Cape Town spokesperson.
“Police members were patrolling in the area when they saw a Mazda 323 that fitted the description of the one that was reportedly involved in a murder earlier.”
Police said that an unknown man was found at around 02:45 with multiple stab wounds in an open field next to the De Nova Youth Treatment Centre, old Paarl road, Kraaifontein.
“The witnesses saw four suspects fleeing the crime scene in a white Mazda 323.”
Police followed up on the information and spotted the vehicle and upon searching it they found a knife that was allegedly used to commit the murder and four occupants inside the vehicle.

]]>“Maitland Flying Squad members patrolling the Kraaifontein area with the assistance of the K9 unit reacted on information this morning about a suspect wanted on a Brackenfell housebreaking and theft case as well as a Table View pointing of firearm case was hiding in Lucullus Road, Kraaifontein.
“Upon searching the residence an unlicensed firearm and ammunition were discovered and a 37-year-old suspect was arrested,” said police spokesperson, Captain Hein Hendricks.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident on Wednesday, at 09:00, members of Kraaifontein SAPS followed up on information received of two LDV vehicles transporting stolen copper cables belonging to Eskom and Telkom.
“The SAPS members stopped and searched the mentioned bakkies in Industrial Road, Joostenbergvlakte, Kraaifontein and discovered 27 bags containing burnt copper wires,” added Capt Hendricks.
“Five suspects, aged between 26 and 40, were also arrested for possession of presumed stolen property.
“The investigation continues in identifying ownership of the confiscated items.”
All suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s court once they have been charged.
