The vigilance and swift response of Flying Squad members ended the freedom of five suspected Milnerton robbers on Tuesday afternoon.
“The members on patrol reacted on information of five armed suspects who fled the scene of an attempted robbery of a cellular store situated in Milnerton,” said police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut .
“The Toyota Avanza was spotted on Jakes Gerwel Drive and brought to a halt.”
He added that the occupants, aged between 23 and 28, were searched and two unlicensed firearms, a .38 Special and a 7.65 pistol were seized.
“Once charge, the five suspects are expected to make a court appearance in Cape Town.”
