George Airport honours stakeholders at 2018 Feather Awards

George Airport

Airports Company South Africa’s George Airport has honoured its service providers and stakeholder partners in the 2018 George Airport Feather Awards, hosted at George Airport on Friday.

ACSA’s annual Feather Awards provide an opportunity for the state-owned-company to recognise the regional partners and service providers that go the extra mile to ensure optimal operations and management of the regional airport, offering services that range from airport security to car hire and maintenance.

George Airport Manager, Brenda Vorster said: “There are many unknown and unrecognised faces who do incredible work behind the scenes at George Airport to ensure that we offer our close to 400 000 annual departing passengers a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

“Our Feather Awards are a token of our appreciation for these individuals and companies for their outstanding service excellence that assist us, year-in and year-out, to maintain our award-winning status as one of Africa’s safest and most prestigious regional airports.”

Vorster was speaking at the airport’s annual Airport Stakeholder Awards gala dinner to recognise service excellence among the airport’s service providers.

These included airlines, retailers, car rental companies, hotels, ground handlers, government agencies and community-based non-profit organisations.

Airports Company South Africa Corporate Affairs Senior Manager, Senzeni Ndebele said: “These awards demonstrate that no organisation runs optimally without strategic support from its key stakeholders and partners.

“As an airport operator, it is therefore vital for us to affirm each stakeholder and recognise how they are an integral part of achieving and maintaining service excellence at this regional tourist hub that is the gateway to the Garden Route.”

This year ACSA celebrates its 25th anniversary and the theme for the Feather Awards was ‘Connecting You to Possibilities’.
