A 38-year-old Wynberg man is expected in court on Tuesday after he was busted with drugs worth around R200 000 over the weekend.
“The abuse of illegal substances is one of the root causes of violent crime,” explained police spokesperson, Captain FC Van Wyk.
“Consequently, members of Operation Thunder and the K9 Unit have been lauded for their efforts to take drugs off our streets and arrest those selling them.”
He said on Sunday afternoon, members of Operation Thunder and K9 Unit conducted a search at a residence in Park Road, Wynberg.

They had received information about the suspected drug den from the public.
“The information was about drugs being stored and/or a person dealing in drugs at the mentioned address,” he added.
“Members searched the house. They found a total of 1 048 Mandrax tablets and 1 001 grams of tik with an estimated value of R200 000. They also seized R 10 500 cash.”
The 38-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs.
“He will appear in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.”
